Meeting the rising demand for sustainable and affordable housing in Kuwait

Following a successful first edition, the Kuwait Housing & Residential Development Forum will return for a second year from 7-8 May 2018 to provide residential project updates, foster innovation and encourage collaboration between government entities and the public and private sectors.

In recent years, the number of requests for housing in Kuwait has steadily increased. At present, 100,000 people are awaiting housing to be supplied by the PAHW (Public Authority for Housing Welfare). The enormity of this problem has prompted the PAHW to construct 5 new cites on the outskirts of the Kuwaiti capital.

With the decline in oil prices, current uncertainty over the economic viability of the Kuwaiti welfare state and reduced electricity subsidies, it is now more important than ever for residential developments to be built sustainably to reduce rising electricity costs for Kuwaiti home owners. The Kuwait Housing & Residential Development Forum will gather government ministries, contractors and consultants to provide updates on the latest design practices and technology developments for cost-effective, high-quality and sustainable building solutions.
